Just beyond the eye of the casual observer and other passers-through, the Tree Streets neighborhood of Johnson City, TN offers historical cultural phenomena and tales from days gone by that can only really be experienced by hitting the pavement. The Southside Neighborhood Organization takes a self-guided approach to understanding our community, by presenting a printable tour booklet. This tour includes a jaunt through Young Cemetery where some of our areas first settlers built homes on a land grant from the King of England, as well as Montrose Court where the notorious Al Capone may have visited. The tour booklet also features a guide to architectural home styles that may be found along your journey.
